With SIA “DPKC”, SIA STRIVE begins implementing the research project “Development of a power balancing system for small hydroelectric power plants”

The project aims to develop a smart energy management system for use in small hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) with one or more turbines.

As a result of the project, it is planned to develop a prototype of a system that will optimize the use of hydro resources and energy storage (batteries), ensuring efficient and automated electricity supply to the grid in accordance with changing demand and available natural resources. 

The project complies with the objective of the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 34 of January 9, 2024 “Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan 2.2. Reform and investment direction “Digital transformation and innovations of enterprises” 2.2.1.3.i. investment “Support for the introduction of new products and services in business” – “to provide funds for the digital transformation of merchants, including the introduction of modern automation, robotization and work control tools”, and the Digital Product Competence Center (DPKC) for the Latvian Smart Specialization area.​

The implementation of the research project begins on July 1, 2025 and is completed on July 31, 2026.
